I'M CHOOSING (DIGITAL) ABSTINENCE

Every month, I’m renouncing a piece of tech I live by.

Spotify, Cloud storage, keyboards, texting — everything. As someone who learnt what dial-up internet is/was yesterday, I need to know if things were better way back when.

To be clear, this isn’t your regular detox: I want to read my Instagram feed like a printed newspaper, citibike with a walkman, and quit Google for a library card. What would slower, less “user-friendly,” anti-capitalist versions of existing tech look like?

A field report will be delivered on the first sunday (haha) of each month. In between, notes on internet counter-culture and all things low-tech will lurk in your inbox.

(p.s. ideas on what I should quit are more than welcome)
